OCT's Expert Presented on Patient Сentricity in Pediatrics at the First Pavlov State Medical University Conference

The XIII All-Russian Conference with International Participation "Topical Issues of Preclinical and Clinical Drug Research and Clinical Trials of Medical Devices" has concluded at the First Pavlov State Medical University of St. Petersburg.

Within the framework of this event, Eugenia Radkova, MD, PhD, Head of MedSci Consulting and Excellence at OCT, delivered a successful presentation. Her talk focused on the modern approach to organizing pediatric clinical trials — patient-centeredness — taking into account the latest updates in Good Clinical Practice (GCP E6(R3)).

In her presentation, Eugenia Radkova, drawing on the company's practical experience, analyzed how to adapt the "patient motivation pyramid" for participation in pediatric research. Special attention was paid to creating comfortable conditions for the child and their parents, minimizing invasive procedures, a flexible visit schedule, the use of decentralized elements (remote visits, wearable devices), and logistical support for families.

The abstracts of Eugenia Radkova's report (co-authored with Irina Petrova, Director of Clinical Operations at OCT) have been published in the official conference proceedings, page 138. The conference program and the full proceedings can be accessed via the links below:

The event proceeded in a productive, business-like atmosphere and sparked genuine interest among fellow clinical research professionals. The conference brought together leading experts in preclinical and clinical research, pharmacologists, biostatisticians, and regulatory specialists. Other key topics on the agenda included the use of real-world data (RWD) in drug development, pharmacovigilance in the current Russian landscape, achievements and prospects of the Eurasian drug market, biomedical statistics and data management, the use of large language models (LLMs), as well as therapeutic and diagnostic opportunities in psychiatry and addiction medicine.
